Revision tips and ideas!

Hello everyone!
It has come to that time of year when we all get caught up doing revision for exams, so to make it easier we are going to give you some of our favourite ways of revising. I hope you enjoy and find this helpful!

1. Schedule
Make a schedule and stick to it! This will make sure that you revise all subjects equally and you dont just stick to the ones that you enjoy the most. However, don't revise for too long at a time because you will become very tired and won't remember anything you are reading! TAKE BREAKS!

2. Colour coding
You may not think so...but this is very helpful for remembering things! In a exam you will be able to accociate the colours with different words and it will make it so simple!

3. SLEEP!!!
A good night sleep is definitely needed when revising or you may end up falling asleep! Especially as it can get extremely boring :)
(how cuteee!)

4. Post it notes
When trying to remember definitions or equations, write them on a post it note. You can then put them up all around your bedroom, in places where they are likely to be in your view, and read them. This is a very good technique for remembering small things because it makes you keep going over them!

5. Mind map
This makes it easier to revise facts about different topics. Make an individual mind map for each topic and write down as much as you can. This will help when trying to remember facts in exams as you can link ideas together.

I hope these ideas will help you in your revision and GOOD LUCK IN YOUR EXAMS!!!

Rainbow Cake!!

Hello,

Today is Recipe Sunday and we are deeply sorry that we have not done this in quite a few weeks, we have been too busy revising and having fun! But to make it up to you we are going to tell you how to make a RAINBOW CAKE!!

We've seen this around tumblr and the internet a lot and as it was my sister's birthday recently she really wanted one. So my mum took on the great challenge of making one and it was b-e-a-utiful...

Let's Go!!

Ingredients:
  • 350g self raising flower
  • 350g soft butter
  • 350g caster or light brown caster sugar
  • 6 large free range eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 40ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 6 food colouring gels
For the icing:
  • Betty Crocker vanilla icing
Instructions:

  1. First, preheat your oven to gas mark 4, 170 degrees Celsius/ 360 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix up the cake batter usually, cream the butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time and then add the flour and vanilla extract. If your mix was thick like mine, add the 40ml of semi-skimmed milk, adding a tablespoon at a time until the consistency is what you're happy with.
  2. Divide your mix into 6 bowls. I measured this by eye, not bothering to measure it exactly. Then mix one colour into each bowl. You should have six different coloured batches. However, don't add it all at once and keep mixing it in until you get the colour you want.
  3. Put them in the oven but be careful not to over bake them. It should take them about 20 minutes but only take them out when you can poke in a skewer and it comes out clean.
  4. When the cakes are cool, wrap them in clingfilm and put them in the fridge for a day.
To assemble:

  1. Put a little of the icing on the plate or cake stand and place the first cake on the icing- I chose purple as the bottom layer.
  2. Then keep doing this until you've assembled three layers of cake. Yet keep the layers of icing thin as you do not want the icing to be pushed out the sides of the cake. Once three layers have been assembled, put the cake into the fridge for thirty minutes to chill.
  3. Continue stacking the cake, try to position the layers so they are as even as possible.
  4. Apply a layer of icing on the cake, filling any gaps between layers. Once you cut into the cake the layers will be very obvious, don't worry.
  5. Once several layers of icing has been applied, chill for one hour...
Then enjoy!!!

So, we hope your rainbow cakes are fabulous and we would love to see pics of them, so send them to us at

Easter trip to Devon :)

Hello everyone!!

We hope you all had a very lovely Easter holidays, we definitely enjoyed our time away from school!

We would like to say a REALLY BIG soooorrrrrrryyyy for not posting in ages, but we will be posting more regularly now that the holidays are over :)

For this post I will be telling you all about my Easter trip to Devon...

During the holidays, my family and I took at last minute trip down to Devon, in the South West of England. I had a great time and the weather was so nice which was a massive bonus!

Day one: An extremely long journey! Normally I don't mind travelling in the car because I entertain myself by listening to music and singing really loudly (which always results in my brother telling me to SHUT UP!) But, this was so boring as it took forever and there was loads of traffic!

Day two: BEACH!! It was extremely hot on this day so, of course, we spent the day at the beach. It was a beautiful day and it added to my suntan so i'm not complaining! In the evening, we went out for dinner and the food was absolutely amazing! It was legit some of the best food I had ever eaten!

Day three: Happy Birthday Mummy!! (I wont mention her age :P) We had such a good day that involved the beach, presents and loads of cake! It was such great fun and I hope she enjoyed it as much as I did!

Day four: Beach again blah blah blah... I don't think I have anything more to say about this day but it was just as fun as the others!! We did take this really cute photo though, starring Lottie the supercool dog...

I had such a great time on holiday, sharing laughs and smiles with my fabulous family! I love them so much and I wouldn't change them for the world <3

The One and Only Kirsty

Kirsty, Kirsty, Kirsty...

She's my person!

She knows me inside out, she's more like a sister to me than my best friend... more so than my biological sister!!

She NEVER fails to make me laugh and if I'm not in a good mood, or I've got problems, she's the first person I go to because she's my person! I know that whatever life throws at me, and trust me- my life's a storm, Kirsty has got my back through thick and thin! She's stuck with me despite all my flaws and for that I am truly grateful for having her as a best friend!

Her kind heart and sensitive soul inspires me everyday and she possesses more talent in her pinky finger than I have in my whole body... and more. Her incredible sense of humour and cheeky laugh always makes me smile and we have the best inside jokes! (I can't tell you any of them other wise they will be outside jokes... hahaha)

She's honestly the best person in the whole world and I will fight you if you try to say other wise!! (I probably won't fight you, just give you a weird look) I am surprised she's stuck around for so long because sometimes I wonder how I have any friends but now it's been 10 years, we are practically legally binded! I don't think she realises how special she is and I would be crushed if I ever lost her!

Kirsty is so crazy and outgoing, always up for a laugh and will never let you down. She's incredibly smart, even though she will never admit it!!

Kirsty... you're the bestest friend that anyone could ask for and I'm glad that it's you I can call my best friend. Please don't ever change because I love you, you're my person!!

My Best Friend Eloise...

Heyy everyone,

Today's post is going to be me telling you all about my best friend Eloise, where do I even begin....

Eloise is the kindest person I know, always putting others before herself. She loves to have fun and have a laugh (don't joke about her height though, or she may punch you in the face!). She is really creative, amazing at textiles and art, which I'm really jealous of because I can't draw to save my life!

Eloise has been my bestest friend for nearly 11 years and I have never gotten sick of her! She is always there for me and is one of those people who doesn't need to ask if you are okay, she just knows. Her crazy sense of humor can put a smile on my face anytime of day and I love that about her because it means you never stay upset for long! Some of her jokes are reeeaaalllly bad, but they still don't fail to put me in a good mood. Plus, our conversations are hilarious...

We have the most phenomenal sleepovers, including LOADS of food and movie marathons which I wouldn't wish to spend with anyone else. We have so many memories and I can't wait to make lots more with her, even if I find it absolutely ridiculous that she hasn't watched The Lion King!!!??

I would just like to say thank you so much Eloise for being my best friend and for putting up with me for this long because to be honest without you, I would be a loner!
Love ya

THIS IS YOUR SIGN

THIS IS YOUR SIGN!!

This is what you've been waiting for to get motivated. We understand that there are times when you just want the world to stop turning and curl up in your bed, or shrivel in to a hole and forget all your worries. But don't, just don't!

The world is not going to stop turning and yes, although your bed may sound appealing, you are not going to achieve anything!

So, go to the gym and get your perfect summer body, pick up that book and start revising for those A's, go ask that person out that you've been crushing over, go get that makeover you desperately wanted, you deserve it!

Just go and live your life!!

THIS IS YOUR SIGN to go and do what you want in life and what makes you happy. After all, this is YOUR life that you're living!

Simple and easy hairstyle :)

Heyy guys!!

Today's post is going to be a tutorial for a simple and easy spring hairstyle! This style is very quick to do so is perfect for those days when you have school or work and just don't have the time to spend doing your hair!....hope you enjoy!

First brush your hair and make a side parting.

Then, take the front part of your hair and split it into three equal stands. Now do a normal three strand  plait going round your head.

Next, split the right side of your hair into three strands, taking the end of the previous plait and adding it into the back strand. Continue doing a three stand plait downwards and secure with a hair band.

Now take the opposite side of hair and do another three strand plait, exactly the same as the one above.

DONEEEE!!!!!!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you liked it we would love to see some of your own hairstyles, send us some pictures on...
